Eating out in Manchester

For something special, head for Albert Square and the streets nearby, there are quite a few good restaurants here. Piccolino (0161 835 9860) is on Clarence Street to the left of the Town Hall and serves good quality Italian meals. The Pollo Rosmarino is also a good restaurant, with quality food and service. On Sunday afternoons, live music is played for you while you eat your meal.

Croma (0161 237 9799), Tampopo (0161 819 1966), also located off Albert Square. Great for a shopping break. Around the corner you can find Livebait (0161 817 4110), excelent seafood is available here.

Café Istanbul (0161 833 9942) is a Turkish restaurant with a great food. It's recently been refurbished and is only a short walk from Kendals department store. Persia (0161 8394889) is finely decorated and serves good food and has a fitting atmosphere.

Le Mont (0161 605 8282) has only been open for a few months, and has already won awards for it's nice tasting French food. There is an impressive venue set on the fifth and sixth floors of Urbis. this is a formal eatery so dress accordingly.

Dimitri's (0161 839 3319) is a popular Greek restaurant that serves good Mediterranean cuisine and is located inside the arcade on Deansgate.
