Manchester United
Surely the most famous football club in the world, Manchester United play there football at Old trafford or as fans refer to it 'The theatre of dreams'. United has has some great players in the past such as Best, Charltonl, Law and Robson but it is the heros of today who treated more as movie stars than football players.

Most matches these days are sold out, and there is a long waiting lisit for season tickets, so getting to see a match can be very hard. You can take a tour of Old Trafford the tours run everday expect matchday from 9.30am to 4.30pm for more details call 868 8631. There is also a museum which costs £5.50/£3.75.

Manchester City

Most real mancuians follow Manchester city, however Man Utd fans might have something to say about this. City have had no wear near the success there close neighbours have had and have spent the last few between the Premiership and the First Division. They recently moved from there home for a 100 years Maine Road to the new city of Manchester stadium which was recently used for the commonwealth games.

Other football clubs in the area include Oldham, Wigan, Rochdale, Bolton, Bury and Stockport.
